Important COVID-19 Updates

Test-Optional Policy - UHCL has approved a temporary test-optional policy to waive the ACT/SAT requirements for Spring 2023, Summer 2023, and Fall 2023 terms. This means freshmen are not required to submit an ACT/SAT score to receive an admission decision, but are encouraged to submit scores if they have them. Applicants will not be penalized for not submitting ACT/SAT scores.

Enrollment at University of Houston-Clear Lake - Gain an understanding of our course modes as we move through the pandemic for the current and upcoming semesters. View enrollment and course mode information.

For applicants currently dealing with difficulties presented by COVID-19 (including school closures, cancelled tests, distance learning, lack of access to school documents or personnel, delayed results on AP/IB/national exams, or other circumstances), we encourage you to contact the Office of Admissions. Connect one-on-one with an Enrollment Management Counselor, schedule a virtual appointment.

UHCL Partners with Parents to Achieve Student Success

When your child goes to college, they don't do it alone. You go along for the ride, too.

You won't be in class together at University of Houston-Clear Lake. But you'll be their co-pilot on the financial aid process, and go on the same campus tours, and have the same questions about job-placement rates, student services and other aspects of campus life.

So ask us. We want to ensure you get the answers you and your student need.

Building Successful Students

UHCL has a great campus. It’s close to home and has a serious learning environment that’s perfect for students on a mission.

Williette Lorance, Parent of UHCL Student

Successful college students aren't made overnight. It takes time to settle into new surroundings and gain the study skills necessary to excel in class. That's why we have the vital resources to nurture students on their journey.

  • The Student Success Center and Writing Center provide assistance to students who need an extra hand at coursework.
  • Academic advisers help students navigate academic issues, such as course choices.
  • Our Career Services Office doesn't just help students determine which career is a good fit – it hosts job fairs, helps them prepare a resumes and practice interviews.

Start With Lofty Goals. Not Lofty Debt.

Our tuition and fees are consistently among the lowest for Texas public universities. That makes us affordable, and it helps that two out of three students receive financial aid from scholarships, grants, student loans, veteran’s benefits or work study. What makes us a great value, though, are the doors that a UHCL education opens.

Our students excel in their fields and achieve leadership roles in all walks of life. Whether it’s our business students rising to the top of the boardroom or our education students taking charge of the classroom, UHCL students are prepared for what comes next.

Questions? Ask Us!
