Academic Advising

Academic advisors support students through email, phone, virtual and in-person appointments. Contact your college advising office to schedule or log in to the Navigate App to connect with your academic advisor.

College advising offices

Graduate students in the colleges of Education, Human Sciences and Humanities, and Science and Engineering are assigned a faculty advisor. If you are unsure who your faculty advisor is, log on to E-Services.

Graduate students in the College of Business can contact the Advising office at 281-283-3110 or busadvoff@uhcl.edu to schedule an appointment.

Recently admitted returning students will meet with an advisor in the college they most recently applied and were admitted to. Please see our College Advising Offices listing below.

* Returning students who have not been enrolled for over one year will need to reapply. Please visit UHCL Admissions for more information. 

Admitted transfer students must set up advising appointments through the Transfer Advising Office. For students admitted for the summer and fall semesters, advising begins in March. For students admitted for the spring semester, advising begins in October.

Students transferring in with 30 or more college hours admitted for an upcoming semester should access the Newly Admitted Student information above or visit the Admitted Students page.

Prospective Transfer Students: Students who have not yet applied and are seeking advising prior to applying for admission to UHCL should connect with the Transfer Advising Office.

International students must meet with the International Advisors within the Office of International Admissions & Student Services. Schedule an appointment by calling 281-283-2740, via E-Services or email intladvising@uhcl.edu.

The Exploring Majors Office is here to support UHCL students through their academic journey. Our office guides you in developing an action plan that helps you find a bachelor's degree which aligns with your academic and career goals. UHCL students interested in participating in the UHCL exploring majors program, please call us at 281-283-2082 or complete the Exploring Majors Interest Form to schedule an appointment.
