As a first-time user, you will be required to set up your two-factor authentication via the Duo mobile app before logging in. If you have difficulty logging in, you need to look up your username, reset your password, or need help with two-factor authentication via Duo, visit Student Resources for detailed instructions to setup and login to your account.

Schedule Advising and Registration Appointment

Advising and Registration:

As a new UHCL Hawk, your next steps are to complete your mandatory advising and registration process to the university. Schedule your advising appointment through the Navigate360 Student App. Visit Navigate Student Resources for detailed instructions on how to locate your UHCL Username and set up your password.

During this one-on-one advising and registration appointment, you will meet with your assigned academic advisor who specializes in your major. They will help you plan your first semester courses, review your academic degree plan, and give you a personalized introduction to your academic college.  The advising hold will be adjusted during your advising appointment to allow you to register.

Undecided with your major? – We are here to help! The Exploring Majors Office can help guide you through your career exploration and connect your professional goals with your academic major.

New Student Advising follows the release of the class schedule:

  • For students admitted for the summer and fall semesters, advising begins in May.
  • For students admitted for the spring semester, advising begins in November.

Preparing for your Advising Appointment:

  • Before scheduling your advising appointment complete mandatory online modules in Orientation Launchpad.
  • Bacterial Meningitis Immunizations - If you are under age 22, you must get your bacterial meningitis vaccination. This is required before you can register for courses at UHCL
  • Texas Success Initiative (TSI) - Newly admitted students must show proficiency in reading, writing, and math or take the TSI Assessment before enrolling in college-level courses. You may qualify for an exemption based on your ACT or SAT exam scores, selected college coursework, AP or CLEP scores, or prior military service.
  • Complete the Advanced Math Placement Test, if applicable - This is used to determine the appropriate math courses in which to place you. The AMPT is advised if your degree plan requires MATH 2413, Calculus I or higher. If you already earned college math credit (including dual credit, AP, or CLEP), connect with your academic adviser before taking the AMPT.

Register/Enroll for Classes:

Check out the UHCL Academic Calendar to learn information about registration dates and deadlines.

The sooner you enroll, the better chance you secure the course days and times that work best for you. For detailed instructions, visit the E-Services How-to Guide for Adding Classes.

If you experience issues scheduling your appointment, contact the front desk of the Advising Office for your academic program, or contact navigate@uhcl.edu if you are just unsure of how to login to Navigate360 Student. Please include your 7-digit ID number.

Complete the Two-Step Advising and Registration Process

Step 1

Access the Transfer Advising Instructional Video. (This is emailed to new transfer students 4 days after admissions is confirmed)

  • The 50-minute video covers topics such as how to access and understand your "My Advisement Report" (your online degree audit), and other important information you'll need to know as a new transfer student to successfully sign-up for classes.
  • At the end of the Instructional video, the last slide will present you with a QR code which will connect you to complete our brief survey which leads to Step 2.

Step 2

On the seven-question survey you will select one of three advising and registration options:

  • Email advising,
  • Individual (one-on-one) advising appointment in-person, or
  • Individual (one-on-one) advising appointment virtually via Zoom

This survey is what informs us how you want to proceed with advising and enrolling in classes. It also places you in queue to have your advising hold released and notifies the transfer advisor to begin developing your degree plan, the Candidate Plan of Study. For next steps, visit the admitted transfer advising program webpage.
