Orientation and New Student Programs
Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Houston – Clear Lake!
The Orientation and New Student Programs (ONSP) Office is excited to welcome you to campus! You will join a vibrant and diverse community of students from across Texas and around the world. Our orientation process is designed to help you smoothly transition into our Hawk community and prepare you for your first semester!
To set you up for success at UHCL, please complete the following three steps in order. This is not an exhaustive list, but it will get you started on your journey.
New Student Orientation Process
Step 1 – Complete Mandatory Orientation Launchpad Online Pre-Orientation Modules
The Orientation Launchpad is your first step in acclimating as a new student and will lay the foundation for your journey as a Hawk! This online resource includes seven engaging modules, and you are expected to complete each module before moving on to the next steps.
How to Access: Go to the “Orientation Launchpad” tile in Go.UHCL.edu. If you encounter technical difficulties, need to look up your username, reset your password, or require assistance with Two-Factor Authentication via Duo, please contact the Office of Information Technology at 281.283.2828 or SupportCenter@uhcl.edu.
Step 2 – Schedule Advising & Registration Appointment
Connecting with an advisor is your next step! Academic advisors are here to help you plan your first semester, review your degree requirements, and clear any holds, so you’re ready to register.
Getting Started: Please check your student email for detailed instructions on beginning your course registration. You can also visit the Academic Advising Website for more information.
Step 3 – Sign Up To Attend Mandatory New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation(NSO) is the final step in launching your life as a Hawk! The specific NSO program may differ based on your student type. Please note that students who do not attend the entire required NSO will have a hold placed on their accounts and will be unable to enroll in classes the following semester. A non-refundable orientation fee will be charged to all incoming students, which is due upon registration for orientation or will be reflected on your tuition and fee statement.
