Orientation and New Student Programs
Congratulations and welcome to the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL)! We welcome you to your first year at UHCL and are happy you are joining us!
Our mandatory orientation process is broken down into three simple steps to help you find your way around campus and ensure you have a fun, exciting transition to life as a Hawk. Completing the process in these three steps will ensure you are prepared for your first semester.
New Student Orientation Process
Step 1 – Complete Mandatory Orientation Launchpad Online Pre-Orientation Modules
Orientation Launchpad is designed to help you acclimate as a new student and will lay the foundation as you begin your journey as a Hawk! Orientation Launchpad will guide you through seven modules.
Students are expected to complete each module before attending their New Student Orientation program.
The Orientation Launchpad is accessed through the "Orientation" tile in E-Services (your UHCL student portal). If you are logging into the pre-orientation modules for the first time, follow the GoUHCL Guide (PDF). This will give you the steps needed to log into GoUHCL and to set up the DUO Mobile app.
You will receive your Student ID number and log in information in your acceptance package shorty after admittance. If you need assistance, please contact the Office of Information Technology at (281) 283-2828 or supportcenter@uhcl.edu.
Orientation Launchpad will go live on May 15, 2024. This date will not impact your ability to schedule your advising appointment or register for orientation.
Step 2 – Schedule Advising & Registration Appointment
During this one-on-one advising and registration appointment, you will meet with your assigned academic advisor. They will help you plan your first semester courses, review your academic degree plan, and adjust the advising hold to allow you to register for classes.
Schedule your advising and registration appointment through the Navigate App. Visit Navigate Student Resources for detailed instructions on how to locate your UHCL Username and set up your password.
Step 3 – Sign Up To Attend Mandatory New Student Orientation
Completion of your mandatory New Student Orientation program is the final step for a successful transition to your first semester at UHCL. New Student Orientation programs differ based on your student type. Please review the following program requirements to determine which program is best for you.
