Campus Construction

Bayou CCAP

In May 2025, UHCL will embark on its biggest construction project in the last several years, the Bayou CCAP (Campus Construction Assistance Program).  Major internal construction activities for this project will be concentrated on the third floor of Bayou and will involve the reshaping and repurposing of much of the third floor between the atriums and the West side of the building.  In support of the work on the third floor and other deferred maintenance activities built into the project, many other areas of Bayou will be impacted at some points during the project.  These major activities include utility work in the second-floor ceilings underneath the major construction areas on the third floor, planned replacement of some obsolete 600-plus air conditioning components that reside in the ceilings of most areas and every floor, and the replacement of the cooling towers that sit on the roof of the Northeast corner of the building.

The wide-ranging scope of this project will present challenges in the form of noise, disruption of normal activities in the office and class environment, and both temporary and permanent changes to the building.  FMC is committed to updating you regularly about the progress of this project and impacts to the campus.  UH System and FMC ask for your patience, understanding and cooperation as we work to make Bayou a better home for all our Hawks.
