Innovative Partnerships

Through partnerships with area schools and organizations, you'll jump-start your career with field experience. McWhirter Professional Development Laboratory School, a joint effort with Clear Creek Independent School District founded in 2001, is one of our largest partnerships. At McWhirter, you can work alongside faculty and classroom teachers to support research, instruction and high academic achievement.

Even beyond our degree programs, we're part of the success of local educators. Our Center for Educational Programs offers hands-on workshops for teachers and principals at every level. The center's Literacy Clinic and Kids U summer programs create hands-on teaching opportunities for UHCL education students and enrichment for local school-age children.

Looking Ahead

Home to UHCL's first two doctoral programs, we're always looking ahead to meet the needs of our students and our community. With course specializations including curriculum and instruction, educational leadership and multicultural education, we'll prepare you for the unique challenges of educating a diverse and vibrant society.
