Mentoring Collaborative
UHCL College of Education Mentoring Collaborative
The UHCL College of Education Mentoring Collaborative promotes the success of our graduates at the start of their careers as educators. Through this initiative the College of Education endeavors to offer a community of learners that nurtures the development of quality teachers and the next generation of educational leaders.
The initiative is framed by the following five ideals to support ongoing, customized support for our alumni and district partners: Consistent Communication, Active Involvement, Ongoing Professional Learning, Teaching Relationships, and Complemental and Supplemental Support.
The multi-layered design offers new teachers and districts access to customized mentoring in a variety of formats. Offerings include:
- One-on-One Mentoring - UHCL faculty mentors offer individualized mentorships as guided by the needs of the alumni.
- UHCL Workshops - Topical sessions created to explore common areas relevant to novice teachers.
- Online Support - Access to content-specific resources, learning modules, e-coaching, and digital dialogues.
- Customized Support - Customized professional development for districts that supports new teachers or existing district mentor programs.
