Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is here to assist you with all projects that could benefit from external funding.

What's New in ORSP (08/26/2024)

All grant applications for external funding must go through our office. We require at least 10 business days advance notice. (See our official policy below.) Proposals received without sufficient advance notice may be postponed until the next application cycle, if applicable.
Use our Intent to Apply for External Funding form to give us advance notice of your upcoming grant proposal.

*New requirement from UHS* All faculty and staff submitting grant applications to federal agencies are required to review and sign the Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program Acknowledgement Form. Submit the signed form with your application materials to your assigned pre-award (proposal development) team member and copy sponsoredprograms@uhcl.edu

Idea Development and Finding Funding

We can start at the beginning, when you just have your great idea and you’re not sure how to start. Tell us your idea, and we’ll help you find potential funding opportunities that may be exact matches or something similar you didn’t think of before. See Funding Resources for more information.

Proposal Development and Submission

When you are ready to apply, we will work with you through proposal preparation and submission. We can explore and explain program guidelines, put you in touch with the program officer, and help you set up a timeline to complete the requirements before the due date. We’ll also develop the budget with you and review and edit proposal documents to check for guideline compliance as well as clarity. Once everything is prepared, we can submit on your behalf with certain organizations. See Proposal Development for more information.

New! See the Data Management and Sharing page for templates and resources when developing a DMSP/DMP for your proposal.

Research Compliance

We are your first point of contact for research compliance questions. Click on a link below for more information.

For information on intellectual property, see UHCL Intellectual Property Policy (PDF) or contact us directly.

Award Received (Post-Award)

After you receive an award, we can help you with contracts and subcontracts, grant financials, reporting, and closeout tasks. See Post-Award for more information.
