A Campus Recreation and Wellness membership is your ticket to our top-quality facilities, programs, and services.

From athletic spaces, exercise equipment, and guided classes to convenient essentials like locker rentals and towel services, we're here to support your fitness and wellness journey.

If you're a currently enrolled UHCL student, including UHCL at Pearland, Texas Medical Center, or online, you're already a member! You can start using Rec Center services right away - log in to rwconnect with your UHCL credentials or visit the Rec Center for details.

Community members, alumni, and UHCL employees and retirees are invited to join at our affordable rates.

Membership Options

We offer monthly recurring, semester, and annual membership options. Anyone age 5 and above is welcome to join the UHCL Recreation and Wellness Center.


7 Day Free Trial

To try out our facilities, complete the online trial membership form. Our team will create your trial membership, confirm it is active through email, and provide instructions for signing our brief waiver forms and information about parking.

Limited to one seven-day trial membership per individual.

Types and Pricing

UHCL Enrolled Students

If you are a currently enrolled UHCL student, including at UHCL at Pearland, UHCL at Texas Medical Center, or online, you are already a member of the Recreation and Wellness Center. Log in to rwconnect with your UHCL credentials or visit the Rec Center for details.

As part of your fees, you have already paid the dedicated student recreation fee. The fee includes access to the Recreation and Wellness Center, all Group Fitness Classes, all Intramural Sports, and special events.  

Your dedicated fee does not include individual services such as personal training, nutrition consultations, or long-term locker rental. Those services must be purchased for a separate fee either online in rwconnect or in-person.

UHCL Continuing Students

If you are not currently enrolled in classes, you do not have an active membership to the Recreation and Wellness Center. A continuing student is one who was enrolled in the previous semester and is scheduled to be enrolled the following semester. This includes students who are skipping a semester or skipping the summer sessions with plans to return in the next semester

Current employees

Includes full-time, part-time, or temporary status. Payroll deduction options are available for current employees — call or visit the RWC for details.

Employee Perks

  • Faculty, Staff, and Retirees can add 1 spouse/partner to their membership at the $30 employee discounted rate.
  • Fitness Release Time provides all full-time, benefits-eligible UHCL employees the opportunity to use 30 minutes of their regular work hours, up to three (3) times a week, to exercise or participate in physical fitness activities. Please contact Human Resources for more details.
  • Visit the Human Resources page for more Health and Wellness benefits and offers through your employment benefits. Note: The UHCL Recreation and Wellness Center is not a part of the HealthSelect fitness center program.
Retirees

Includes any previous faculty or staff members who retired directly from UHCL.

UHCL retirees must secure a UHCL ID card from Human Resources that indicates their former employment status prior to completing their membership.

UHCL Alumni and Community

UHCL Alumni

UHCL graduates are eligible to purchase an alumni membership.

Parking must be purchased separately through UHCL Parking Services.

UHCL Alumni members will receive an RWC ID card at the time of their membership purchase.

Community

Individuals not affiliated with UHCL are eligible to purchase a membership.

Parking information will be available when purchasing your membership in person at the Member Services desk in RWC 203. Parking information will be collected by Campus Recreation and provided to Parking Services and your permit will be available in the RWC within 2-3 business days.

Community members will receive an RWC ID card at the time of their membership purchase.

Minors Under Age 18

Health and Human Performance Institute (HHPI)

The Health and Human Performance Institute (HHPI) is a community-based initiative led by the Exercise and Health Sciences academic program and provides resources, expert guidance and research-based support to help people in Bay Area Houston stay on track toward regaining their strength and health.

Memberships for HHPI are purchased through the Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness.

The HHPI program is not under the Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness. All membership rates, fitness programs, consultation sessions, personal training services through this membership are all part of HHPI.

Before an HHPI membership is sold, all individuals will be verified by HHPI administration. Please contact the HHPI Clinical Director, Dr. Joseph Hazzard, for more information.

Day Passes

Individuals aged 18 and older can purchase a day pass, valid for one calendar day.

 $8/day

Purchase at rwconnect or in-person

Guest Passes

All RWC members are allowed two free guest passes per semester (excludes minors). These can be redeemed at any time during the semester and do not need to be purchased beforehand. Simply bring a guest and when checking in, let the RWC staff know you would like to use your guest passes and they will take care of the rest.

All guests are required to provide photo ID and complete the required waivers. Any guests 17 and younger are required to have a parent or legal guardian sign all waivers and all facility access and space restrictions still apply.

Guest passes are non-transferrable to other members and do not transfer over semesters.

 

Cancellation of Membership

To cancel a non-student membership, please submit the online cancellation form (located below). Cancellation requests must be submitted 3 business days before the next billing cycle (on the first day of the month.) Otherwise, they will not take effect until the following billing cycle.

There is no charge or penalty for canceling a membership.

No refunds will be granted for already processed monthly memberships or partial months.
