Faculty Resources
Undergraduate Research Assistants
The grant program provides students paid opportunities to work alongside faculty in their labs. By working on research, students gain skills and self-confidence needed to pursue internships in local companies and develop the expertise needed to pursue graduate degrees in their chosen fields.
Culturally Responsive Teaching and Professional Development
Culturally responsive teaching prepares students to work in diverse settings when they move on to their future places of employment. Our program provides opportunities for faculty to participate in professional development centered on inclusive teaching. These opportunities will provide faculty with the skills needed to ensure their classrooms are safe, inclusive spaces that support students' learning.
Course-embedded Tutoring
Faculty who request course-embedded tutors can participate in professional development sessions on the roles and responsibilities of the tutors and how to best utilize the tutors during class meetings. The community of practice is offered through the Center for Faculty Development.
Faculty can request more information on these opportunities by sending an email to psc@uhcl.edu
