Academic Probation

What is Academic Probation?

As an undergraduate student, you are expected to maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA each semester. If you are a graduate student, you are expected to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher each semester. If your cumulative GPA does not meet the required minimum, you are placed on academic probation.

Academic Probation

If you are placed on academic probation, you are still able to enroll full-time and therefore, your visa status is not in jeopardy. The combination of your semester GPA and cumulative GPA determines your academic standing once you are placed on academic probation. You will need to earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 each semester if you are an undergraduate or a 3.0 if you are a graduate student in order to avoid being placed on academic suspension. You will remain on academic probation until your cumulative GPA meets the required minimum of 2.0 if you are an undergraduate or 3.0 if you are a graduate student.
