Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Office (O365) is a web-based software suite that provides students, faculty, and staff online access to Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook (email), Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, and more. O365 also provides premium spam and malware protection and One Drive for Business (including 1 TB of OneDrive storage).
You can use your UHCL O365 accounts on your personal devices, including desktop computers and mobile devices. You can use the Office 365 Pro Plus Desktop version on up to 5 personal PCs or Macs per user. You can also use Office Mobile Apps on up to 5 tablets and five smartphones per user. If you attempt to exceed your limit on devices, Office automatically sign you out of the device you used the longest time ago.
Use your UHCL work or school email address and password to log into O365. NOTE: O365 login requires DUO two-factor authentication.

Microsoft OneDrive is essentially your file storage area in "the cloud," used instead of saving files to your computer’s hard drive or other storage media. UHCL faculty, staff, and student automatically receive 1 TB of data storage in their UHCL OneDrive. Using OneDrive lets you access your work-related files from off or on campus, without the need to use VPN and Remote Desktop. Teams is the New Listserv
If you want to communicate with peers outside of our organization, you'd need a Listserv, right? Not anymore - Microsoft Teams is available to anyone and everyone, even if they don't have access to Microsoft Office 365. Here's a quick guide on how to invite people to your team.
- Create a team in Microsoft Teams as you would normally do for any group, project, or committee.
- Invite users from UHCL by adding them to your team.
- Invite users from outside organizations by adding them via their e-mail address.
- Users from outside organizations will receive an invite from Microsoft Teams letting them know they have been invited to the team
- By clicking Open Microsoft Teams within the email, the user can then access the team from their browser or the Microsoft Teams app.
Teams Success Stories
Here are just a few examples of how different groups and organizations around campus have been using Microsoft Teams!

Things You Should Know
Before publishing your form, please take note of the following items.
- Review UH System Data Security Policy. Data security and privacy is important - you could potentially expose the university to risk any time data is collected. Please be sure to read the University of Houston System Administrative Memorandum on Data Classification and Protection, and contact the Information Security Office if you have any further questions.
- Review the Branding Guidelines. All UHCL-related content must adhere to the Brand Guide and anything containing the university logo must pass a Brand Review process. This is especially important to consider if your form is aimed at students or audiences outside of the university. Please contact Marketing and Communications for more information.
