This event is open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni, their family and friends, and the rest of the community. Join us in creating an atmosphere that encourages all Hawks, past and present, to fly back home to UHCL!
- Veterans Day Celebration: Honoring Our Heroes

Join us for the annual Veterans Day Celebration hosted by the Captain Wendell M. Wilson Office of Military and Veteran Services. This special event is open to the entire campus community as we come together to honor and recognize the service and sacrifices of our veterans. To help us plan accordingly, please RSVP.

Hunter's Honky Tonk is the kick-off event of our annual homecoming celebration. There will be food, games, activities, and of course country line dancing! Come out and have a hollerin' good time!

Wednesday, November 13
I Heart UHCL Day is an annual event for organizations on campus to showcase fun activities, for students to eat snacks and play games, and for spirit contest winners to be announced. Come show your school pride!
The Campus Activities Board and the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership are calling all UHCL Registered Student Organizations, Students, Departments, and Colleges to participate in our annual Spirit Competitions and Costume Contest! This year is extra special as the University continues to celebrate 50 years! With this in mind we encourage you to embrace the theme "Hunter's Country Fest: A Texas-Sized Celebration."
Spirit Competitions: Bring out your best decorations to bring to life the Homecoming Week theme into one of the many spirited decoration competitions. All faculty and staff, students, offices, departments, colleges, and Registered Student Organizations are encouraged to participate! Registration for the Spirit Competitions ends November 5th. Photo deadline is November 17th. Voting on Spirit Competition Entries will take place from November 11-13th through an online form that will be shared with the university community. Winners will be announced at I Heart UHCL Day.
Costume Contest: All faculty and staff, students, offices, departments, colleges, and Registered Student Organizations are encouraged to participate in the Homecoming Week themed costume contest! Categories include: Best Individual Spirit, Best Registered Student Organization Spirit, Best Student Group Spirit, Best Office/Department Spirit and Best Overall Spirit. Sign-ups for the costume contest will take place during the event from 2:30-3 p.m. at the DJ Station and Stage. Bring your costume, theme (if applicable), and all participants!

- Hunger and Homelessness Health & Basic Needs Wellness Fair

Thursday, November 14
In recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Center for Student Advocacy and Community (CSAC) at the University of Houston-Clear Lake invites you to participate in the Hunger and Homelessness Health & Basic Needs Wellness Fair. This fair aims to raise awareness about food and housing insecurity and how it affects those in our community. Join us to learn about food & housing resources, trivia & lite bites!

- Guided Night Hike

Thursday, November 14
Join us for an exciting evening with the Environmental Institute of Houston! Start by crafting your own DIY trail mix at the Rec, tune in for a brief mindfulness presentation by our Counseling & Mental Health Center, then set off on a guided night hike through nature. We will explore the on-campus trails and experience the beauty our campus has to offer. Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle. Advance registration required! Register a week in advance at UHCL Campus Recreation and Wellness by logging in with your student credentials.

To celebrate UHCL Cares Day, there will be two ways to impact the campus community through service:
UHCL Cares Day is an annual tradition where students, faculty and staff participate in a campus-wide service project to keep UHCL beautiful. Hosted by Hawks 4 Community and the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, students, faculty, and staff will partner to take on projects on campus that need attention.

Give Thanks Alumni Drive-Thru Donations is a partnership with Alumni Relations and the Center for Student Advocacy and Community. A drive-thru drop off will be set up for individuals to drop off hygiene products to support our Hawks during the holiday season.

- 34th Annual Chili Cook-Off

Saturday, November 16
Join us for the 34th Annual Chili Cook-Off! The Chili Cook-Off is the longest-standing tradition at UHCL. All students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community are welcome to campus for chili tastings, food, music and fun. Members of the university community and alumni can form teams and submit their chili recipes for a chance at bragging rights. We hope that you can come celebrate with us as it is a great opportunity to bring your family and friends to show them what UHCL is all about.
