Exhibition Opportunities

Propose an Exhibition

Hoping to have your work exhibited at the UHCL Art Gallery? Calls for Entry for group exhibitions will be posted below and on Glasstire. The gallery also accepts exhibition proposals from artists and independent curators throughout the year. To be considered, send a letter of interest, artist's statement (or project description, if proposing a group exhibition), biography(ies), curriculum vitae(s), and an illustrated checklist of works to artgallery@uhcl.edu. Email size should be no more than 10MB. If applicable, please indicate a timeline and budget. Please note that exhibitions are planned more than two years out in advance. Exhibitions are planned with space considerations in mind. The gallery has 1,400 square feet of exhibition space with 150 linear feet of wall space. The maximum height of artworks allowed is limited to the 10 feet of wall height in the gallery. Due to the volume of submissions we receive and the fact that we are very selective because of our small size, we ask artists to refrain from following up on their submissions.

Student Opportunities

Are you a UHCL student looking to exhibit your work? Students graduating with a bachelor of fine arts degree are invited to submit works to the annual springtime BFA exhibition in the gallery. Still early in your academic career? No problem! All students are encouraged to propose exhibitions for the Artist Project Space (APS) Gallery, an exhibition area in Arbor North Building adjacent to the ceramics studios. Learn more about the APS Gallery here. Alumni and local artists are also invited to submit proposals for a APS exhibition.

Not yet a UHCL student but interested in pursuing a degree in fine arts? Learn more about UHCL's studio art and art education offerings by checking out the Art and Design page. Art History enthusiasts might also be interested in UHCL's degree in Humanities.
