Welcome to the Hawk Family

Congratulations to the parents, friends, and family members of our incoming UHCL Hawks! We are excited to welcome the family members, friends, and supporters of our new UHCL Hawks! Your role is invaluable as you help your student transition into their academic and social life at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. To better prepare and support you, we offer helpful programs and resources.

To assist your student's transition to campus life, they will need to complete three steps. Completing the process in these three steps will ensure your student is prepared for their first semester. 

Step 1 – Complete Mandatory Orientation Launchpad Online Pre-Orientation Modules

• Orientation Launchpad is assessed through the “Orientation Launchpad” tile in Go.UHCL.edu. If your student encounters technical difficulties, need to look up your username, reset your password, or require assistance with Two-Factor Authentication via Duo, please have them contact the Office of Information Technology at 281.283.2828 or SupportCenter@uhcl.edu. 

Step 2 – Schedule Advising & Registration Appointment

• Advising and registration is different depending you’re your student’s type. Please have your student check their student email for detailed instructions on beginning their course registration. They can also visit the Academic Advising Website for more information.

Step 3 – Sign Up To Attend Mandatory New Student Orientation

• Register for New Student Orientation via the “Orientation” tile in E-Services, accessible via Go.UHCL.edu. Program eligibility differs based on student type.

Please encourage your students to check their student email account and E-Services for more information regarding their required orientation process.

 

Family and Guest Orientation at New Student Orientation (NSO)

Although we do not offer a separate Family and Guest Orientation Program during our New Student Orientation program, family members and guests are welcome to join their students during orientation. The cost for this program is $40 for each family member or guest (guests under 12 are not charged). The charge can be paid before orientation or at check-in on the day of the session.
