Welcome to the Hawk Family

Congratulations to the parents, friends, and family members of our incoming UHCL Hawks! You can play an active and supportive role as they transition to their academic and social life at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Our office offers various programs and resources to help better inform and prepare you to support your student.

To assist your student's transition to campus life, they will need to complete three steps. Completing the process in these three steps will ensure your student is prepared for their first semester. 

Step 1 – Complete Mandatory Orientation Launchpad Online Pre-Orientation Modules: The Orientation Launchpad is accessed through the “Orientation” tile in E-Services (your student’s UHCL student portal). 

Step 2 – Schedule Advising & Registration Appointment: Your student can schedule the advising and registration appointment through the Navigate App.  

Step 3 – Sign Up To Attend Mandatory New Student Orientation: Your student can register for orientation through the “Orientation” tile in E-Services (your student’s UHCL student portal).

Please encourage your students to check their student email account and E-Services for more information regarding their required orientation process.

Family and Guest Orientation at First-Year Student Orientation (FSO)

We are excited to offer a brief Family and Guest Orientation program during the FSO program. The majority of the FSO program is developed for your student to engage with fellow UHCL students in small group activities and presentations.

If you are interested in joining your student during FSO, you will follow a separate program track from your student. The cost for this program is $40 for each family member or guest (guests under 12 are not charged).  The charge can be paid before orientation or at check-in on the day of the session. • College Finances 101

Family and Guest Orientation at Transfer Student Orientation (TSO)

Although we do not offer a separate Family and Guest Orientation Program during our Transfer Student Orientation program, family members and guests are welcome to join their students during orientation.
