The Master's Thesis website contains guidelines and requirements for completing a Master Thesis within the College of Science and Engineering at University of Houston-Clear Lake. Students considering the option for their degree, should take time to carefully read all information contained within the Website. The master's thesis is a rigorous process requiring both scholarly research in Software Engineering and a mind for detail.
Software Engineering MS students selecting the thesis option registers for the 3 hour course: SWEN 6939 Master's Thesis Research. The thesis requires a minimum 6 hours of course credits and no maximum number of enrollment semesters, only 6 hours credit is achieved. Students must have: a committee chair, a three member thesis committee and prepare a thesis proposal in the semester prior to thesis enrollment. The committee chair must be a Software Engineering tenure track faculty member. Students meet in person on a regular scheduled with the committee chair and committee members to satisfy the proposed thesis requirements. Contact your faculty advisor for instructions.
