Tuition Rebate
1,000 Tuition Rebate for Certain Undergraduates
The rebate program is intended to provide a financial incentive for you to complete your first bachelor's degree with very few courses outside your degree plan. To qualify for the rebate, you must not have attempted more than three semester credit hours in excess of the credit hours required for your degree plan. For example, if your bachelor's degree plan requires a total of 120 credit hours to complete, and it takes you no more than 123 credit hours to obtain your degree, you may be eligible for a rebate. In addition, if you were admitted for the first time on or after fall 2005, you must also graduate within four calendar years for a four-year degree program. To be eligible you must also:
- Have taken your first college course in Fall 1997 or later;
- Have been a Texas resident at all times while pursuing your degree;
- Have been eligible to pay in-state tuition at all times while pursuing the degree; and
- Not have graduated yet.
Don't wait until you graduate
In order to receive the rebate if you qualify, you must have filled out the Tuition Rebate Form prior to your graduation. It is best if you submit your tuition rebate application at the time you apply for graduation. Once your degree is posted to your transcript, it is too late to apply.
Turn in your rebate application to the Office of the Registrar. The office will verify your eligibility notify you if it is approved.
