What to Expect from a Visit with the Faculty Ombudsperson
When visitors drop in or make an appointment to meet with the ombudsperson, it is expected the Ombuds will:
- Engage in active listening.
- Assist visitors in pinpointing issues and generating options for a resolution.
- Facilitate visitors' assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of possible options.
- When warranted, provide referrals to other university offices such as Human Resources, Title IX, Counseling and Mental Health, etc.
- Follow up with inquiries as appropriate to determine outcome and further need of assistance.
