Social Media Guide
Social media has become part of our everyday lives. Through sites like Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat, users can interact with each other, create original content and participate in conversations. Other popular social media sites include LinkedIn, Wikipedia, Periscope, Pinterest, and the list grows daily.
University of Houston-Clear Lake supports active use of social media sites by colleges, departments, programs, centers and groups to engage and build relationships with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and community partners. Explore this page for resources and guidelines for official university social media sites.
UHCL Marketing and Communications does not directly manage or maintain social media
accounts for colleges, programs, administrative divisions, or student organizations.
However, to ensure that the messaging and visuals align with the UHCL brand, our team
actively monitors these pages and offers feedback when necessary.
Once you've established your social media channel, please get in touch with us at
socialmedia@uhcl.edu to share your account handles. This will enable our team to follow and engage with
your content. For any questions, additional training, resources, or assistance, please
feel free to reach out to socialmedia@uhcl.edu.
