Volunteers
Texas Envirothon would not be able to put on this yearly environmental competition without the help of volunteers like you – join the fun!
The competition for 2024 will take place Saturday, April 13, through Monday, April 15, which roughly breaks down as follows:
- On Saturday, April 13, teams arrive, check in, and attend training sessions. (7:30 - 9 a.m.) One or two volunteers are needed to help with check-in and distributing team packets.
- On Sunday, April 14, the field competition portion of the day (7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.) requires Station Monitors, Team Guides, Test Runners, Test Graders, and Photographers;
- Later in the afternoon, the first round of oral presentations (1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.) requires Judges, Door Monitors/Timers, Runners, Scorers, and Team Buddies.
- On Monday, April 15, the second round of oral presentations (8:15 – 11:30 a.m.) requires Judges, Door Monitor/Timer, Runner, Scorers, Team Buddies, and Photographer (8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.).
Volunteering at the Texas Envirothon has many benefits:
- All volunteers will receive a Texas Envirothon t-shirt.
- You'll have opportunities to network with educators and environmental professionals from across Texas.
- You'll meet environmentally conscious students from across Texas.
- You'll also reconnect with your own avidity to make a difference for both young people and the Texas landscape.
The 2024 competition will be held in Longview. The exact location is top secret, so we will be emailing that information closer to the event date. Volunteers should have their own transportation.
