The Texas Envirothon, offered in cooperation with the NCF-Envirothon, is part of North America's largest high school environmental education competition.

The Texas Envirothon empowers high school students to tackle real-world environmental challenges through hands-on problem-solving. Teams compete in forestry, wildlife, soils and land use, aquatic ecology, and a current environmental issue, building skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and stewardship. By sponsoring, you invest in the next generation of conservation leaders and sustainable solutions.

Through several months of study under the guidance of teacher advisers, teams prepare themselves for tests in soils and land use, aquatic ecology, wildlife, forestry, and a current environmental issue, which changes yearly. The study sessions begin each fall and culminate at the statewide competition in the spring of each year. During the three-day event, teams work together to answer knowledge-based questions in outdoor field-testing stations. In the final event of the state competition, students prepare a presentation on the current issue. The winning team at the state level advances to represent Texas at the week-long NCF-Envirothon competition during late summer, which is held in a different state or Canadian province each year.
