EIH Researchers Present at State of the Bay Symposium

Two graduate students and two research staff from Environmental Institute of Houston participated in the 11th State of the Bay Symposium held Jan. 22–23 in Galveston, Texas. The event was coordinated by the Galveston Bay Estuary Program.

The symposium brings together stakeholders to share environmental policy and management successes, report the latest monitoring and research findings, and illuminate the challenges facing Galveston Bay.

EIH student presentations included:

Mahmoud Omar, oral presentation, “Understanding Ecology of Atlantic Rangia in Galveston Bay: Deciphering the Role of Freshwater Inflows.”

Sherah McDaniel, poster presentation, “Foraging Ecology of Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) in Galveston Bay.”
