Community Connections
GT Academy
The Center for Educational Programs is excited to partner with Dickinson ISD and La
Porte ISD to offer GT Academy to students in their Gifted and Talented Programs.
GT Academy is a program designed for students, involving five Friday sessions per
semester. Scholars explore diverse subjects such as animation, art, coding, game design,
graphic novels, or science. The curriculum emphasizes Depth and Complexity, encouraging
scholars to delve deeply into their chosen field of study and become experts in their
respective areas while engaging in hands-on learning experiences that involve real-world
applications, allowing them to gain practical skills and insights applicable beyond
the classroom setting. At the conclusion of each semester, GT Academy holds a showcase
where scholars display and present what they have learned throughout the term, providing
an opportunity to showcase their achievements and skills.
If you are interested in adding your school district to our GT Academy rotation, please contact CEP at CEP@uhcl.edu.
