UHCL Fulbright Program
Educational exchange can turn nations into people, contributing as no other form of communication can to the humanizing of international relations.
- Senator J. William Fulbright
Overview
The prestigious Fulbright program was established by legislation introduced by Senator J. William Fulbright in 1945. The purpose of the program is to promote international goodwill through exchanges. Grants are administered by the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and awarded through a competitive application process.
Opportunities are available for college and university faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars, and many others.
A full description of the program and awards is available on the Department of State website. Weekly webinars provide helpful information about available Fulbright opportunities and guide applicants through the process of submitting a successful Fulbright application.
