The Master of Science in Educational Management is available in a hybrid format, featuring a mixture of in-person class sessions and online assignments. It's also offered completely online. AEL and T-ESS Certification Exams Included
While you take the required courses toward the degree, you'll have the opportunity to receive the Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) and Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certifications which are included in the program. Free certification exam support is also included.
New Trauma Informed School Leadership Course
One of the most important components of being an effective educational leader is knowing how to take a trauma-informed approach. This new course teaches students how to realize how trauma can affect people, recognize the signs, respond appropriately, and resist re-traumatization.
Accreditations and Distinctions
The College of Education is accredited by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).
We've earned national recognition for accomplishment and innovation, including the Christa McAuliffe Award for Excellence in Teacher Education.

Admissions Requirements
A standard university application is required. The following items must be uploaded to your UHCL E-Services account (assigned after you have completed the online application): Admission Essay and Interview video will be scored based on program established rubrics. Once your application has been approved, you will be prompted to formally accept your
office of admission to the program and pay a required $37 TEA Admission fee.
New, non-degree seeking, and returning UHCL students applying after the deadlines
above may be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the
