Leadership for the 21st Century

The accelerated MBA at UHCL is perfect for the active professional looking to maximize the return on your investment. The courses for our 36 credit-hour program run for 8 weeks each.

• Full-time, 14 months: 2 courses per 8-week term across the fall, spring and summer semesters
• Part-time, 28 months: 1 courses per 8-week tern across the fall, spring and summer semesters

We've also made going to class more convenient for your busy life by developing our hybrid format where half the coursework is online and the other half is face-to-face.

Furthermore, qualified applicants to this program can earn a waiver from needing to take the GRE, GMAT or similar standardized test.

  Apply online through the UHCL Graduate Application Portal for admission to the University of Houston-Clear Lake as a graduate student.

• Requirements

  College of Business programs which require a standardized test will provide a standardized test waiver to students who graduate from qualified programs and whose grade performance meets designated waiver requirements.  A program is considered a qualified program if it meets any of the following criteria: 

  • a regionally accredited U.S. school, college, or university, or 
  • an accredited school, college, or university in a country where English is the native or first language, or 
  • an accredited college or university in a country on the SBEC-approved list of countries (see Teacher Certification English Language requirements). 

  In addition to the qualified program requirement, the applicant must also meet the degree performance requirements set by the program they are applying to, as follows: 

  Applicants to the MBA program may qualify with a standardized test waiver if any of the following conditions are met: 

  • earned a bachelor's degree from a qualified institution with a 3.000 or greater cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from the degree granting institution, or 
  • earned an advanced degree from a qualified institution, or 
  • completes the MBA certificate start with a 3.000 or greater GPA in the certificate. 
• MBA Certificate Start 

  Domestic applicants who have completed a bachelor's, degree from a qualified institution with less than a 3.0 GPA, may choose admission to the MBA program with a standardized test waiver through the MBA certificate start. Applicants to the MBA certificate start must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.500 (on a 4.0 system).  Qualified applicants who are admitted to MBA certificate start program must complete their graduate certificate with a 3.000 or greater GPA in the certificate to be granted acceptance into the MBA core program.

• Admission Review Process 

  All other applicants will be reviewed for admissions by program faculty.  This evaluation will consider all academic coursework and standardized test performance.
