UHCL Communication student Atzel Arias participated in a Hawk Venture at the Ion Building. These tours allow external partners to showcase their facilities and operations to students, as well as a chance for both sides to network.

Engaging With Partners for Learning

The Office of Strategic Partnerships hosts signature outreach events throughout the year that allow students to network with professionals, gain insight into industries, and learn about internship opportunities. Check the university calendar for upcoming dates and events.

Hawk Ventures

Hawk Ventures are off-campus site tours that increase awareness of the employer, internship opportunities, and industries related to academic disciplines. These tours allow external partners to showcase their facilities, operations, products, and services. The Strategic Partnership team coordinates student registration and transportation.

Internship Information Session

These sessions present a specific employer and their internship opportunities. Participants can learn about hiring proedures and network with employer representatives. Information sessions can be hosted in-person, virtually, or hybrid.

Lunch and Learns

These on-campus events provide an opportunity to learn more about the employer and engage with representatives. The Strategic Partnership team provides food and beverage for participants.

Other Outreach Events

Classroom speaking, student organization presentations, fireside chats and panel sessions are examples of outreach events hosted by Strategic Partnerships.

UHCL students participated in a Hawk Venture to Lonza, a biotechnology manufacturing company headquartered in Pearland, Texas. Hawk Ventures are opportunities for experiential learning through off-campus site tours that increase awareness of career opportunities in a variety of industries.
