The Mechanical Engineering BS program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the commission's General Criteria and Program Criteria for Mechanical and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.

The program is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). This means that the university has complied with the standards contained in the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement and with the policies and procedures of the Commission on Colleges.
