Computer Science Program
Program Overview
With a bachelor's option and master's option, University of Houston-Clear Lake's Computer Science program adheres to the leading standard in curricula. The Bachelor of Science degree has earned accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, making computer science the program of choice for students seeking a high-quality education. Adding to the accreditation achievement are the university's partnership benefits. UHCL's proximity to the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and other partnering industries in the Clear Lake area have sponsored research projects, mentored student projects, and hired students as interns and full-time employees.
While enrolled in the Computer Science program, you'll also benefit from the instruction of faculty members who are dedicated to leading-edge teaching and research. Our professors, many of whom have earned National Science Foundation grants to set up and furnish various laboratories, adopt leading-edge technologies and incorporate them into their courses. These instructors actively engage in research, including data mining, pattern recognition, Internet computing, real-time systems, artificial intelligence and algorithms. This research is regularly integrated into the program. With exceptional computing resources and small class sizes, you'll receive an advanced education and student-centered instruction in this program.
