HR Director Announcement
June 5, 2018
Dear Faculty, Staff and Students:
After a nationwide search, Dr. W. Brad McGonagle has been selected as the new Executive Director of Human Resources for University of Houston-Clear Lake. Dr. McGonagle brings with him more than 22 years of human resources experience, most of it in higher education. He begins the position tomorrow, June 6.
Dr. McGonagle comes to UHCL from University of Texas Medical Brach at Galveston where he served as human resources administrator for the School of Nursing. Prior higher education experience includes 13 years with Texas A&M University at Galveston where he served first as director of Human Resources before being named associate vice president for Administration and Human Resources.
As associate vice president, Dr. McGonagle provided divisional leadership for all non-academic functions on campus, as well as managed all employee relations and personnel matters. He also served as the campus representative to the System Benefits and Compensation oversight panel, while also developing and implementing campus Emergency Preparedness Plan, Emergency Communications Plan and Business Continuity Plan. He holds a doctorate in Human Resource Development and Management from Texas A&M University.
I would like to thank UH System Associate Vice Chancellor Joan Nelson who led a dedicated search committee that included seven UHCL faculty and staff. I would also like to thank UH’s Jennifer McMillin who has been serving as our interim executive director of Human Resources.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. McGonagle.
Sincerely,
Ira K. Blake, Ph.D.
President
