Passing of Michelle Dotter

Dear Faculty and Staff:

It is with great sadness that I share the news of the death of retired Vice President for Administration and Finance Michelle Dotter. Ms. Dotter passed away Friday with her family nearby.

As many of you may know, Ms. Dotter joined University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1992, beginning her service with the university as the assistant vice president of Business Services. In 1995, she was named vice president for Administration and Finance until her retirement in February 2017. From 1980 until joining UH-Clear Lake, she worked within University of Houston System in a variety of roles. Her many years of dedicated service strengthened the university and all those who worked for her.

Ms. Dotter is survived by a daughter, Meredith, and son-in-law, Nick; son, Richard, and daughter-in-law, Lauren; as well as three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas “Tom” Dotter, who died in July 2016. A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 16, 5-8 p.m., at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy., League City, TX, 77573. The funeral will be held Friday, May 17, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 15500 El Camino Real, Houston, TX 77062.
