Sandra Metoyer is the executive director for the Environmental Institute of Houston. She earned her Ph.D. in geography and her M.S. in geosciences from the College of Geosciences at Texas A&M University.

Dr. Metoyer has over 13 years of experience in administering and directing projects in higher education, with a formidable track record of developing project designs and proposals that have led to successful funding and realization of project goals. She has previously served as the Co-PI and director of a National Science Foundation HSI Institutional Transformation project and as director of a Department of Education Title V project. Her research interests include geospatial literacy, STEM education, and undergraduate early immersion inquiry experiences.
