Emma Clarkson
Emma Clarkson graduated from UHCL with a master's degree in environmental science from the School of Science and Engineering in 2012. Her thesis project was "Short Term Trends in Activity and Habitat Selection of the Texas Diamondback Terrapin." While completing her degree at UHCL, Clarkson worked as a research assistant for EIH. She managed the institute's long-term diamond-backed terrapin monitoring data, and designed several smaller projects investigating range and movement of terrapins. She also designed a project investigating shark distribution in West Bay using longlines, and assisted with the ichthyofauna surveys of the Brazos River. Clarkson currently works for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as a Natural Resource Specialist II.
