Office of Compliance and Ethics
Faculty, staff, and students at University of Houston-Clear Lake are responsible for conducting their activities within the confines of the law with the highest ethical standards.
At UHCL, departments/responsible parties are accountable for monitoring applicable laws, developing and implementing appropriate policies, and communicating these policies and procedures to their constituents. The UHCL Compliance Program was established to develop standards and procedures to help ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
Mission
The Office of Compliance is dedicated to promoting a positive culture of ethics, integrity, accountability and compliance at University of Houston-Clear Lake through collaborative partnerships that focus on ensuring adherence to established laws and regulations and university policies and procedures.
In accordance with System Administrative Policy No. 01.I.01 – Institutional Compliance and Ethics Program, UHCL carries out its mission by ensuring that its program incorporates the elements of an effective compliance program detailed by the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines (see § 8B2.1).
