Biography
Mr. Khoury currently serves as a full-time faculty and Department Chair for the Healthcare
Administration Department at the University of Houston – Clear Lake at the Texas Medical
Center Campus. He has been in the healthcare field since 1966, attended the College
de la Salle, Cairo in Egypt, received his BS from the University of Houston, and graduated
with his MS in Healthcare Administration from University of Houston - Clear Lake in
1980.
During his tenure, he has initiated and successfully completed the construction and
development of several hospital facilities and services, such as the opening of St.
John Hospital and the expansion of St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. Mr. Khoury also
served as the CEO for both hospitals, and has also held various roles with the Sisters
of Charity Healthcare System for 35 years, including Corporate VP Operations, Corporate
VP for Health Policy and Government Affairs, Insurance Trust Chair, and others. He
also worked as the President and CEO of the Francan Health System in Western Pennsylvania
and advised the government of Taiwan on healthcare provider issues as an International
Consultant.
Throughout his career in the Healthcare field, Mr Khoury has developed and implemented
successful managed care strategies and has successfully lead cultural transformation,
turnaround situations, ambulatory care centers, sports medicine centers, clinics,
acute care hospitals, behavioral health hospitals, women's hospitals, rehab facilities,
nursing homes, IPAs, HMOs, PHOs, cancer centers, medical school relationships, teaching
hospitals and residencies, hospital acquisition, sale and conversion.
