Business Pitch Timeline
Round 1: Applications Open (January)
All UHCL learners are invited to submit one-page business pitch applications detailing their concepts, products/services, business stage, and investment plans. Selected COB faculty review and evaluate the pitches for quality and viability, providing feedback and determining which pitches advance to the second round and attend the mandatory Hawk Business Pitch Bootcamp.
Round 2: Business Pitch Boot Camp (March)
The top ten learners attend the Hawk Business Pitch Bootcamp, featuring faculty-led presentations and workshops on entrepreneurship. They then record a one-minute pitch, which is judged by UHCL faculty members to determine the finalists. These top competitors are invited to the final round at the live Hawk Business Pitch Competition event.
Round 3: Live Competition Finale (April)
In the final round, notable alumni and partners judge the live competition. Contestants present 1 ½ minute pitches followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. Judges select first, second, and third place winners, while all finalists qualify for award funding.
