Vocational Program
The Vocational Skills Assessment and Training Program conducts assessments of skills critical to successful employment and provides individualized training of job-related skills.
These skills include, but are not limited to:
- Staying on task while working independently
- Asking for help with tasks
- Accepting feedback
- Correcting one's work based on feedback from supervisors.
Individuals diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities ages 16 years and older who have difficulty obtaining or maintaining employment may receive vocational assessments and short-term intervention services through the CADD Vocational Program.
These services are provided through a contract with the Texas Workforce Commission (formerly the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services).
To request services, contact any local Texas Workforce Commission office or caddvoc@uhcl.edu.
