Alumni Association Scholarships
The Alumni Association has created the largest privately funded scholarship program on campus. Since its inception in 2000, the endowment has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to new and returning students.
Alumni Association Scholarship
Major: Any UHCL degree program
GPA: 3.0 or greater
Status: Full-time or part-time; undergraduate or graduate
Financial Need: Will be a factor
Specifics:
- Commitment to volunteer in at least one alumni event each long semester for the duration of the scholarship award
- During the last long semester of the award period, attend an alumni board meeting
and give or write a statement up to one page describing
- How you have benefited from community and/or university involvement;
- The importance of receiving a degree from UHCL;
- How you plan to contribute to UHCL after graduation;

Distinguished Alumni Scholarship
The Distinguished Alumni Scholarship was established by UHCL's Distinguished Alumni Award honorees, was created specifically for descendants of alumni.
Major: Any degree plan at UHCL
GPA: GPA minimum 3.0
Status: Undergraduates enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours; Graduates enrolled in a minimum
of 3 credit hours
Financial Need: Will be a factor (you will be required to submit a FAFSA by the UHCL priority deadline of March 15th)
Additional Documentation: Achievement List - Submit a list of honors, awards, achievements, volunteer services
for UHCL and or your community
