Faculty Responsibilities
Our office assists to meet your legal obligation to students with disabilities and helps you become more aware that various students have various needs and those who have differing abilities need your support to support their need for academic accommodations.
You have a responsibility when responding to the request for academic accommodations. This involves having a dialogue with the student about their disability needs, working with them and our office to establish reasonable accommodations.

Required Statement
The University of Houston Clear Lake complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, pertaining to the provision of reasonable academic adjustments/auxiliary aids for students with a disability. In accordance to Section 504 and ADA guidelines, UHCL strives to provide reasonable academic adjustments/auxiliary aids to students who request and require them. Providing Alternative Testing Accommodations
If a student within your class needs an alternative testing accommodation (e.g., extra time, a quiet room), the student will must complete an exam request through the AIM system. In order for us to administer the test according to your specifications, we ask that you complete the Alternative Testing Agreement which is linked to the accommodation letter you receive on behalf of the student from our office via your email. The Alternative Testing Agreement will allow you to specify what materials the student may use for the test, how you would like for us to return the test to you, and what we should do if the student has questions during the test.
You can deliver the test to us through one of 5 ways:
- Upload the test into the Accessible Information Management system
- Email: DisabilityTests@uhcl.edu
- Hand deliver: SSCB 1.301; students can deliver tests in a sealed envelope
- Fax: 281-283-2624
- Campus mail: Box 258
The completed exam is returned back to the instructor within one business day.
