With UHCL's Minor in Statistics, you'll learn fundamental statistical concepts, methods,
and computing skills with professional software (including R and SAS), equipping you
for these opportunities. A solid knowledge base in statistics can help graduates land
a coveted role in a lucrative profession, including software developer, statistician,
analyst, or database administrator, earning more than $70K a year.
Become an Effective Researcher in Just 15 Credit Hours
As more data are collected, stored and analyzed, students find it to their advantage to gain competency in statistics to improve their research skills. The minor consists of a total of 15 credit hours, nine of which are of required course hours and six of which are elective hours. Courses are taught by skilled faculty members, many of whom are involved in advanced research, including spatial point process, experimental designs, and biostatistics.
