Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Plan Life Sciences 7-12
Teach Kids the Essentials of Life Science
Teaching young students can be a rewarding career choice, whether it was your first career path or it's a new path you're deciding to start. University of Houston-Clear Lake has a variety of post-baccalaureate teacher certification programs to train you for a dynamic career in education. If you're passionate about science, the Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Plan in Life Sciences 7-12 provides the instruction and experience you'll need to teach students the fundamentals of life science concepts. Second-career teachers understand the authentic application of learning and can bring a deeper level of experience and perspective to the classroom and are able to motivate students and inspire other teachers. School districts seek qualified, passionate teachers with varied life experiences to challenge students to become great future leaders.
Inspire Future Scientists
Your coursework focusing on biology, chemistry, theories of educational psychology, and teaching methods in secondary science will prepare you for certification and to become an effective, creative classroom teacher who can make the concepts accessible and above all, transfer a love of science to all students. Apply your organizational and communication skills from your previous career to benefit students and parents, and help your students gain the tools they need to succeed in science throughout the rest of their academic career.
Although it is not necessary for students holding at least a bachelor's degree and seeking initial teacher certification to pursue a second bachelor's degree, those who wish to do so must meet the university's lower-level requirements in addition to the requirements for both teacher certification and the second degree, unless such requirements were met through the completion of the first bachelor's degree.Request InfoHow to ApplyVisit
