Flexible Class Formats

The MSN in Nursing Education and Leadership is an accelerated 30 credit hour degree, which is unique as it provides both nursing education and healthcare leadership courses in a single degree. Students can attend either full-time or part-time and can complete the degree in as little as 24 months in the following formats:

  • HyFlex: The Nursing courses in the program are offered in the HyFlex mode. HyFlex is a combination of "hybrid," meaning alternating between face-to-face meetings, whereby students may choose to attend face-to-face synchronous class sessions in person (typically in a traditional classroom) and/or online delivery mode, allowing both synchronous and asynchronous participation. This "flexible" option allows students to move between these participation options as they choose. In a HyFlex course, the same faculty member delivers both in-person and online courses simultaneously. The Leadership courses are offered face-to-face and fully online.
  • 100% Online: The MSN Education and Leadership is also available completely online in a synchronous format, providing more flexibility for working adults.
