The program prepares critically minded, prospective teachers who are knowledgeable in the history and social science fields and can take that into the classroom. You will learn balance content and process to achieve thoughtfully formulated didactic, reflective, and effective goals for student learning. UHCL's College of Human Sciences and Humanities partners with the College of Education for the Social Studies 7-12 certification that prepares tomorrow's teachers. Comprehensive in design, the coursework prepares graduates to design and implement curricula grounded in the thinking processes required of a variety of social sciences. Students will choose from classes that cover geography internationally, as well as looks at the urban, economic and social aspects that comprise our world.
