Addictions Counseling B.S.
Help Improve Lives and Social Issues
Addictions counselors play an integral role in supporting individuals addicted to drugs or alcohol through the stages of the recovery process. With your Bachelor of Science in Addictions Counseling from University of Houston-Clear Lake, you’ll empower people to address the emotional issues that underlie substance use disorders and resolve personal challenges in a healthy manner.
Become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
Many positions in the field of counseling require licensure and post-secondary education.
That’s why your degree from UHCL will make you a more attractive candidate to prospective
employers. You will complete the coursework required to graduate and apply for licensure
with the Texas State Department of Health Services. Once licensed, you will be able
to work as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. UHCL is the only public institution
