Biography
Dr. Hasan is an associate professor of accounting in the College of Business. He received
his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed an MBA
in Accounting at Georgia State University under the Fulbright Program. He also completed
an MBA in Finance and an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of
Dhaka. He holds the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. He is a member
of the Governing Board of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and serves
on the IMA Houston Chapter Board.
Dr. Hasan worked in senior financial analyst roles at two Fortune 500 companies before pursuing his doctoral studies. His teaching interests include financial accounting and management accounting. His main research interests are disclosures, trade volume, and earnings quality.
